Improved furnace efficiency through fitch fuel catalyst, magnetic resonator, IOT enabled stations
VFD installation for rolling machines
Green Hydrogen for fuel blending in furnace
Renewable Energy
Heavy Engineering, Hazira is accelerating its renewable energy transition through onsite solar installations and Hybrid Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
The facility has significantly increased the share of clean energy in its operations through sustained and strategic initiatives
The adoption of renewable energy solutions is being driven while ensuring high standards of operational reliability
These efforts reinforce L&T Heavy Engineering’s commitment to sustainability and contribution toward L&T’s broader carbon neutrality targets
Water Conservation
Major initiatives taken for water conservation:
Installed rooftop rainwater harvesting system.
Successfully created artificial pond of capacity of 3 Cr liter reduce freshwater consumption demand.
Several Ground Water Recharge System to recharge aquifers with rainwater.
Installed Hydrotest water recovery network of more than 1 km.
Realtime water consumption monitoring.
100% treated wastewater reuse for gardening & greenbelt development.
Circular Economy
L&T’s first Single Use plastic free complex
EPR for Plastic & E waste
Disposal Diversion of hazardous waste to pre-processing
Reutilization of fixtures from 14% in FY22 to 37% in FY26
Biodiversity / Tree Plantation
Miyawaki Forest Development: Miyawaki development with native trees planted across the campus, enhancing carbon sequestration, groundwater retention, biodiversity, and climate resilience.
Dense Greenery in Campus: More than 20,000 trees planted to rejuvenate soil and enhance greenery. Habitat creation for birds, honeybees, and wetland species.
Mangrove Plantation: L&T has planted mangroves across 150 hectares in Karanj and Hansot, Gujarat, through its Blue Carbon initiative. This effort has boosted farmer incomes and enhanced ecological balance, providing a sustainable livelihood while restoring biodiversity and protecting the coastal environment.
Mudland to Mangoland:Transforming barren land into thriving mango orchards with 300+ mango trees.
Mass tree plantation drives to celebrate key environmental days with active employee engagement.
